Safety Program | NRCA Safety Consulting Services

Improving your company's safety performance can reduce your insurance costs, experience modification rates and production time. It starts with a detailed, company-specific written safety program. It also takes a commitment to employee training and giving your employees the equipment, tools and knowledge they need to stay safe. But how do you know whether your safety program is actually working, and where do you turn for the most effective roofing-specific safety information?

It's easy—turn to NRCA. NRCA understands roofing contractors' unique safety needs and how to create and maintain a successful safety program for your company. NRCA's safety consulting services support your safety efforts by:

  • Ensuring your written company safety plan addresses the risks your company faces, is current and consistent with CalOSHA's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Code of Safe Practices requirements, and has measurable components to ensure long-term viability
  • Identifying gaps between field safety practices and your written program
  • Recommending solutions for improving safe behavior
  • Ensuring alignment of your company safety training and management practices

Off-site Consultation: Safety Program Review and Improvement Program

Through its off-site safety consulting services, NRCA's safety experts will create a written safety program or provide you with a thorough evaluation of your current program. In addition, you will receive a written report containing NRCA's findings and recommendations for future enhancements and proper program maintenance.

Price: $1,200 per roofing contracting firm, which includes:

  • A copy of The NRCA Roofing Safety Resource CD
  • Eight hours of support including personal contact (telephone or e-mail) and administrative support (program assessment, writing and development)
  • Once the initial time allotment has expired, you can opt to continue with NRCA's safety consulting for a fee of $125 per hour.

On-site Consultation: Safety Program Implementation and Improvement Services

NRCA offers customized on-site, in-person consultation that involves an NRCA safety expert who will:

  • Conduct comprehensive on-site audits, including office and job-site visits and personal interviews
  • Provide a written analysis of current and recommended office, shop and job-site safety program implementation
  • Conduct follow-up telephone consultation with your safety director or owner for on-going program maintenance
  • Provide individual or group training, including train-the-trainer sessions for your foremen and safety manager(s); safety-specific (e.g., fall protection) classes for workers; and/or management techniques addressing safety program implementation for senior managers
